Manufactura Pictures is a Luxembourg-based company, dedicated to the production of fiction and documentary. The company was founded on December 23rd 2020 by Yann Tonnar.

Yann founded Manufactura Pictures as a logical step from starting as a director, to getting more and more involved with supervising productions, and coaching other directors and scriptwriters into fulfilling their own vision. Amongst others as the creative producer of the tv series routwäisssgro, involving twenty different directors, and producing 72 half-hour episodes in three seasons and five years.

Since 2021 Manufactura has delivered numerous national and international co-productions with partners across Europe and beyond, and maintains a regular partnership with ARTE. Highlights from its catalogue include Ali Asgari’s haunting autobiographical essay Higher Than Acidic Clouds selected at IDFA and screened at Visions du Réel, Hot Docs, Torino,…

In paralell, Manufactura is developing a number of fiction projetcs in collaboration with Luxembourgish directors and writers, and produces commissioned work for various artists and institutions.

From 2010 to 2020 Yann served as the secretary general of the Luxembourg Association of Film Directors and Scriptwriters (LARS), and from 2019 to 2025 as the president of the Luxembourg Film Academy. In 2024 he co-founded and was the first chair of the Federation of Film Academies Europe (FACE), uniting all film academies across Europe. As of 2026 Yann stepped down from all representational functions, to focus entirely on producing.

He is selected in the Emerging Producers program 2026 from the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival
